Rp 30 Million Disappears, Mother Fooled by Promise of Her Child Becoming a Civil Servant

INFOKU, BLORA -Finally, a resident of Banjarejo sub-district was arrested by the Blora Police Criminal Investigation Unit.

A man with the initials DS, 40, was arrested by the authorities on suspicion of committing a  crime  of fraud  and/or embezzlement by enticing and promising the victim that he could work as a state civil servant ( ASN ) at the Blora Regency Government (Pemkab).

To be precise, the lure of becoming a civil servant at the Blora Social Service, Women's Empowerment, and Child Protection ( Dinsos P3A ) and the Blora Trade, Cooperatives, and Small and Medium Enterprises Service ( Dindagkop UKM ).

Blora Police Chief AKBP Wawan Andi Susanto said that the victim of the fraud was PDW, 22, a resident of Wirosari District, Grobogan Regency.

"The incident began when  the victim's mother  was promised by the suspect. That the suspect could provide jobs for her two children to work at the Blora social services and trade and cooperatives office," explained the Police Chief.

Chronological

The incident began around December 2020.

The victim's mother looked for work for her two children. Then, the victim's mother was introduced by her friend to the suspect, so that communication took place.

"And, the reporting mother asked the suspect for help so that her two children could work at the Blora Social Services and Trade and Cooperatives Office," he said.

Furthermore, on June 1, 2021 at around 18.30 WIB, the victim's mother received a call from the suspect to immediately pay IDR 30 million.

Then, the next day, the victim's mother left on June 2, 2021 and at around 15.00 WIB, the victim's mother arrived at the suspect's house at Banjarejo District, Blora.

Then the victim's mother was willing to spend a total of IDR 30 million according to the suspect's request to smooth the way for her two children to get the job.

"But it was just a promise, in reality both of her children did not get jobs. And, the victim's mother also demanded the promise and asked for money many times, but was not given and finally the victim reported to the police," he explained.

For his actions, the suspect was charged with Article 378 of the Criminal Code on fraud and/or Article 372 of the Criminal Code on embezzlement. The maximum sentence is four years in prison.  (Endah/ IST )
