INFOKU, BLORA -The 2024 Blora Regent's Cup decorated kite competition held in Mlangsen Village, Blora City District, became entertainment for residents, Sunday (8/9/2024).
The third annual event was successfully held by the committee in the Jalan Baru rice field area, Mlangsen Village.
The number of participants increased, reaching hundreds. Apart from local Blora, some of them came from outside the city. Such as from Solo, Ngawi, Tuban, Rembang, Bojonegoro, Klaten and several other areas.
As soon as it was opened by the Blora Regent, hundreds of decorative kite motifs flew decorating the Blora sky. Starting from bapangan kites, three-dimensional (3D) kites.

The motifs are also very varied, including horse-drawn carriages, rice cake carts, meatball carts, ships, puppet characters, the Garuda bird, and teak wood.
And there are even those who make decorative kites with a caricature motif of the Regent of Blora, Arief Rohman.
Bratasena, the committee of the competition stated that the decorated kite competition was held as part of the series of commemorations of the 79th Indonesian Independence Day. Due to various activities, the competition was only held at the beginning of September.
At least 120 participants took part, both from Blora and outside Blora.
"Some made dokar motifs, lontong carts, meatball carts, ships, puppet characters, Garuda Birds, and even some made caricatures of the Blora Regent. Participants came from Solo, Ngawi, Tuban, Rembang, Bojonegoro. We do this activity every year, and this is the 3rd year," he added.

Meanwhile, the Regent when he came to the location appreciated the decorative kite competition. He said, he did not expect the enthusiasm of kite lovers and the community to be extraordinary.
"This is extraordinary, many participants came from outside Blora, many spectators were also present until the end," he said.
The Regent hopes that events like this will continue to be held annually. So that it can drive the economy of the Blora community.
Here are the winners of the decorated kite competition. First place was won by Cak Pank with a 3D Dokar kite motif. Second place was won by Niam from Tuban, East Java who flew a black Brotoseno motif kite, while third place was won by Niam from Solo with his Tayub Tradisonal kite motif.
Meanwhile, for the hopeful champions, each hopeful I was won by Iqbal (Blora) with a 3D lontong tahu kite motif, Hopeful II Hariyanto from Blora, Barongan kite motif. Hopeful III was won by Jari from Rembang, with his Sawangan kite motif. (Setyorini)
