In 2026 the Blora Government will activate the Blora-Cepu railway line, this is the reason

This is because the government seems serious about activating the railway line on the Cepu-Blora route, for transportation connectivity.

Head of Bappeda Blora Mahbub Djunaedi said, according to the regional medium term development plan (RPJMD) for Blora Regency 2021 - 2026 in the transportation sector.

Bappeda together with the Ronggolawe College of Technology (STTR) Cepu and Alumni of the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering, Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Gadjah Mada University (UGM), have completed a pre-feasibility study of re-activating the Blora-Cepu railway line with new energy-based modes and renewable (EBT).

"The STTR leadership together with the FT UGM Alumni Team have conveyed the idea of ​​reactivating the Cepu-Blora railway line to the Regent of Blora," he said while accompanying the team at the official residence of the Regent of Blora.

According to him, Blora, part of the Greater Cepu area, has great economic potential from the natural oil and gas industry in the Cepu Block and Vegetable Oil and Gas (Biomass) in Blora Regency.

The area is almost 50 percent Perum Perhutani forestry.

The reactivation of the Cepu - Blora railway line, he continued, has been included in the 2018 National Railway Master Plan (RIPNAS), so it is also included in the Blora Regency RJPMD. 2021 – 2026.

Apart from that, the Cepu - Blora route is the backbone of Blora Regency's transportation connectivity, with the potential to expand service coverage to Ngloram Airport and Blora - Purwodadi as well as Blora - Rembang.

This kind of railway electrification has recently been carried out on the Yogyakarta – Solo railway line by PT KAI DAOP 6, with a distance of around 60 km, ticket price per passenger IDR 8,000. Compared to the distance between Cepu – Blora which is only around 35 km, maybe the ticket price will be around Rp. 5,000.

Apart from taking power from the PT PLN network, the electric power infrastructure for the tram is also planned to build a renewable energy source.
