Demolition of Cepu Main Market Old Building Begins

 

INFOKU, BLORA  There are three local buildings of the Cepu Main Market which have been demolished by traders.

The building used by around 150 traders will be revitalized this year. Traders asked for a building design in the form of booths to accommodate more.

From [reporter's observation] ,  the demolition started from Sunday (4/6) to Thursday (8/6).

Several traders seemed to be busy demolishing semi-permanent buildings. Used materials accumulate because they are no longer used.

Traders are given until Friday (9/6) to dismantle the building. Then, the backfill will be continued," said Secretary of the Association of Cepu Central Market Traders Rasmo.

According to him, as a result of the hearings, the traders asked for the building design to be made into booths so that they could accommodate more people.

Eko, a trader from Balun Village, Cepu, said that traders were actually given independent demolition time until the end of May.

However, there are some things, the merchant has not resolved.

"I hope that there will be no reduction in size when it is built later. Currently, each booth is 3×2 meters in size,” he explained.

Head of the Regional Market Division for the Blora Trade, Cooperative and Small and Medium Enterprises (Dindagkop UKM) Office, Margo Yuwono, said that he was studying the wholesale market revitalization project in advance. His party has just served to replace the previous head of market.

Previously, the physical planning for the construction of the Cepu Central Market had been completed. The planning used for the tender document is currently still being reviewed  by the Blora Inspectorate.

The development of the market is budgeted from funding for the assistance task of the Indonesian Ministry of Trade with a total of around IDR 3 billion. The funds were used to build a building as a booth for traders. (Endah/ IST )
