Early indications of gas bursts in Oro-oro Kasongo are H2S


INFOKU, BLORA –The initial indication of gas coming out of the Oro-Oro Kesongso eruption is hydrogen sulfide or H2S.

Therefore, residents must keep their distance when carrying out activities around the site.

"Actually for toxic gases it also depends on other free air which can minimize or reduce the levels of these toxic gases. In addition, there is also the wind direction factor. Where the toxic gas will have an impact on the location with the direction of the wind heading to that location,'' said the Head of the Mineral and Coal Geology Section of the ESDM Service Branch for the South Kendeng Region Hadi Susanto yesterday (12/4).

Hadi continued, his party had not carried out an inspection at the scene.

He explained that the spurting gas occurred in the afternoon before sunset.
