The impact has hit people's homes. One of them is a house belonging to Kemis, a resident of Gempolrejo Village, Tunjungan District.
The house belonging to the 77-year-old grandfather collapsed after heavy rain. The house has wooden walls and woven bamboo.
"We together with the residents immediately worked together to clean the former house because it also hit the house next to it," said Ernawati, a local Gempolrejo village official.
The village government, according to Erna, has reported this incident to the regional disaster management agency (BPBD) and the social service. Meanwhile, the victim is sleeping at his neighbor. Local residents help with daily food needs.
Gempolrejo Village Secretary Epy Vita Listiyani said the village government together with residents had built a house on the village head's private land for residence.
