Kemadoh Jati Flood Victims Receive Aid

INFOKU, BLORA -Blora Regent Arief Rohman with Dandim 0721/Blora, Lieutenant Colonel. inf. Andy Soelistyo KP cheated and carried out a review of the location for handling flood victims in Hamlet Kemadoh, Jegong Village, Jati District, Wednesday (9/3/2022).

The flood occurred due to the overflow of the river around the Kemadoh reservoir on Tuesday (8/3/2022) afternoon which caused some local residents' settlements to be submerged in water.

Participating in the review, the Head of BPBD Blora, Head of the P3A Social Service, Head of the DPUPR, Dinrumkimhub, Bappeda and Baznas Blora Regency.

Arriving at the location, the Regent and Dandim took the time to enter the houses of residents close to the river and have a dialogue with flood victims as well as provide motivation and distribute aid from the government.

In addition to handing over aid, the Blora Regent and Dandim also handed over social funds from the Blora Regency Baznas.

"We are all concerned about this flood. Thank God, all of them are healthy and no one was injured. Hopefully this assistance can be of great use. We will ask the Indonesian National Police and BPBD officers to help clean up the rest of the flood," said Arief Rohman.

Not only handing over aid, the Regent and his entourage also saw the condition of the Kemadoh Embung which had overflowed and caused flooding.

When reviewing the reservoir, the Regent was accompanied by the Head of the DPUPR and the BBWS representative officer Bengawan Solo as the manager of the 25-year-old reservoir.

On that occasion, Arief Rohman discussed around the floodgates of the reservoir with the DPUPR and BBWS Bengawan Solo officers while looking at the condition of the reservoir where the sedimentation was already high.

"It turns out that the reservoir which was built in 1997 has a lot of sedimentation or siltation. Please later convey it to the Head of the Balai (BBWS Bengawan Solo) so that it can be dredged or normalized. The goal is to make the reservoir capacity return to normal and minimize the potential for flooding," he said.

Meanwhile in front of the Regent, the Head of Jegong Village, Dianto said that there were 16 families who were victims of the flood from afternoon to evening.

"The flooding started at around 16:30 WIB in the afternoon, so residents immediately prepared to evacuate to higher settlements. And it gradually receded from around 20:00 WIB. It is estimated that due to high rainfall in the upstream of the river, so that Kemadoh overflowed here," said Dianto , Head of Jegong Village.

The Head of BPBD Blora, Slamet Widodo, explained that when he received a report of a flood, his party immediately coordinated with the village head and sub-district to deploy officers.

"Thank God the flood did not last long, our officers asked us to immediately collect data and identify the needs of the disaster victims so that this afternoon (yesterday) the aid could be distributed and attended directly by the Regent and the Dandim. Assistance was in the form of basic necessities, clothing, school equipment, and blankets. for 16 KK," he explained.

On the same occasion, Dandim Andy Soelistyo asked Babinsa to participate in monitoring the water flow of the reservoir when it rained heavily and assisting in the process of opening and closing the reservoir's floodgates.

"It turns out that there are only 2 officers on duty to open and close the floodgates. When it was flooded like yesterday it took two hours to open the floodgates. Please Danramil can mobilize Babinsa to help the floodgate officers. Coordination with the village head, try to arrange the SOP," added Dandim.

Parmi, one of the flood victims, was happy to receive assistance from the Regent and the Blora Regency Government. He hoped that the flood would not happen again.

"Thank you very much (thank you very much) Mr. Regent, Mr. Soldier and Mr. Mrs. all have visited us. We have experienced floods like this up to 3 times. Hopefully the dam will be dredged soon so it won't flood again," he said. (Endah/KOM)
