INFOKU, SEMARANG -In order to avoid illegal parking which is troubling the public, the Semarang City Government, Central Java began implementing the implementation of electronic parking on four public roads on Sunday (13/2/2022).
The electronic parking payment system is implemented on four roads, including Jalan MT Haryono starting from the Pringgading intersection to Jalan Sidorejo, Jalan Agus Salim starting from the Pekojan intersection to Bubakan, Jalan Wahid Hasyim starting from the Kauman intersection to the Beteng intersection, and Jalan Pekojan starting from the Pekojan intersection to Jalan Inspection.
The Mayor of Semarang, Hendrar Prihadi (Hendi) hopes that the community can support the use of the electronic parking system in the city of Semarang.
"We want to be more orderly and transparent in parking management. We hope that through this electronic parking system, no one will play with parking fees anymore," Hendi said in a press statement Monday (14/2/2022).
The parking tariff imposed on this system in accordance with Perwal Number 70 of 2021 concerning Parking Services on the edge of public roads is Rp. 2,000 for motorbikes and Rp. 3,000 for cars.

"With this implementation, there is certainty of tariffs and official entry into the state treasury, besides that the data collection is clearer because it is real time," said Hendi.
To support this policy, the Secretary of the Semarang City Transportation Service, Danang Kurniawan said, around 34 parking attendants had attended counseling and training related to the implementation of electronic parking last January.
"The system will run from 09.00 to 17.00 WIB, while at night it still uses the manual parking system," he said.

He said that the trial for the implementation of electronic parking is planned to last for the next three months
In the first month, the officer will evaluate, guide and warn the jukir. In the second month, Dishub will carry out enforcement.
"If the judge is reluctant to implement electronic parking, it will be replaced with another method, the term is being fired," he said.
After the trial period and evaluation are carried out, it is planned that the application of electronic parking will be added to other road sections such as Depok, Thamrin and Gajahmada.
For information, this electronic parking uses the QRIS application issued by the Semarang City Transportation Service. The parking payment system does not only use E-Wallet but can use non-cash transactions through Shopee Pay, OVO, Gopay, and M-banking which already supports scanning QRIS barcodes. (Anik/ IST )
