Anticipating the Spike and New Variants of Covid-19, Dinkominfo Blora urges residents to be vigilant

INFOKU, BLORA - The Department of Communication and Information (Dinkominfo) of Blora Regency appealed to the public to be careful and anticipate new variants that cause Covid-19 ahead of the 2021 Christmas holidays and the 2022 new year.

The appeal was conveyed through a mobile broadcast car unit by combing some areas inside and outside the city, as well as at the Sido Makmur Blora people's market, Tuesday (21/12/2021).

Head of the Dinkominfo Blora Practitioner Nugroho, through the Head of the IKP Ignatius Ary Soesanto said that the mobile broadcast was intended so that the public could spread the word, remind each other to apply health protocols with discipline so they can be more alert and careful.

"Learning from the experience of long holidays in the last two years, it is evident that neglect of health protocols and a surge in mobility can trigger an increase in cases of the corona virus, therefore we need to keep reminding ourselves through mobile broadcasts," he explained.

Moreover, it is reported that in Indonesia a new variant that causes COVID-19 has been detected, namely the Omicor Virus.

"Therefore, we ask you to prepare for the 2021 Christmas holiday period and the 2022 new year, so that we can anticipate so that it doesn't happen again," he added.

He explained that through mobile broadcasts, there are at least 5 steps that can be taken to prevent a spike in cases of   Nataru's holiday.

First, discipline and consistently implement 3M health protocols. This means that they do not apply procedures separately, starting from wearing masks, keeping a distance, and washing hands.

"In addition to being integrated, prokes must be implemented anywhere and anytime, in a series of activities or trips," he explained.

Second, immediately follow the Covid-19 vaccination. Because, vaccination can protect people who can't be vaccinated such as children under 12 years old or people with certain health complications.

"It can be protected because it guarantees their circle of interaction with people who have a lower chance of contracting it," he explained.

The third step, the initiative to test or treat Covid-19. If they feel symptoms similar to Covid-19, the public is asked to immediately get tested at the nearest health facility.

This aims to prevent transmission because the virus is detected faster.   In addition, this effort is also able to increase the healing rate due to faster treatment.

The next effort is to analyze the risk of virus transmission before carrying out activities. It is important for everyone to pay attention to air circulation and the duration of the activity. "We are advised to choose outdoor activities with a shorter duration," said Ary.

Thus, it is necessary to consider the urgency of traveling, especially for those who do not feel fit, especially for people who feel symptoms or are close contacts of Covid-19 cases, not to do outdoor activities and travel for the safety of themselves and others.

"New Year's Eve, there will be no ceremonial activities, we are advised to celebrate it at home with family and pray that we will have a long life, health, increased fortune and this pandemic will end soon," he said. (Endah/ IST )
